Second Birthday Celebrated With Gift Giving Spree
Biggest round yet for ASI SMART Company Scholarship Fund

The ASI SMART Company Scholarship Fund has celebrated its second birthday by awarding nine more non profit professionals from across the not for profit sector and across the country grants worth $11,000. This round of funding was one of the most competitive on record with $40,000 worth of funding requested, resulting in some tough decisions for the review panel.

“Demand is increasing so we must be doing something right,” says Paul Ramsbottom, managing director ASI Asia Pacific and instigator of the scholarship fund that aims to strengthen non profit sector professionals. “More not for profit professionals are seeking ongoing professional development than ever before and that’s good news.”

Daylight Savings Ending....

Correction from ASI AP Update - Please note that Daylight Savings Time has ended in Western Australia (as of 30th March). This means that Perth is - just for this week - three hours behind Melb/Syd.

As of 6th April SA, VIC, NSW, ACT, Tas and New Zealand will end daylight savings time (clocks are put back one hour) thus bringing QLD back into the same zone to the rest of the eastern states and WA will be back to being two hours behind the east.

New Zealand will remain two hours ahead of Melb/Syd.

See blog entry http://www.insideasiap.com/node/578 for details on USA.

Hotels near the ASI Melbourne office

I've had a couple of queries in recent times from customers who are heading to Melbourne for training and the like asking about hotels nearby our offices. Here's a reference list of some I thought of - please add to the list!

The nearest hotels include:

1. The Rialto Hotel on Collins (5 star hotel, 2 doors down from ASI's office) - http://www.rialtohotel.com.au/

2. The Oaks apartments (Oaks on Collins is across the road, down ½ a block, Oaks on Market is a block down) - http://www.theoaksgroup.com.au/List.aspx?state=0&lid=11

3. Clarion Suites Gateway (http://www.wotif.com/hotels/clarion-suites-gateway.html) – down one block from office, overlooks river & casino, corner of Flinders Street)
