Colin's Second Week in USWeek 2 – feels like normal work days…. Almost. This week was a lot more normal – 5 days in the office. It is still hard getting up in the morning though this is not jetlag – it is timezone commitments – working US during the day and AP at night. But then, how is this different to normal? Last week was a good week. We launched iMIS15 to some large customers (30+ users) local to the Alexandria office. A great opportunity to meet with customers, introduce Customer Care and show them iMIS15 and help them understand the requirements for their planning. I did the intro and Marty did the presentation. (I was interested in that no-one seemed curious about how/why an Aussie was talking to them). We don’t expect some of the larger customers to upgrade quickly but we need to ensure their next year includes planning/budget for it. In addition it is a great opportunity to show them where iMIS is going and confirm that there is no need to look elsewhere at competitive products. ASI is building the tools for them to be able to fill any gaps going forward. I worked individually with each of the US and AP staff on some things they are doing. Mainly giving advice on customer issues and opportunities/sales process. I needed to do some customer reallocation this week – 1200 AiSP customers to 3 US staff, and my 4 AP customers to Shearne and Lindsay, as well as Jenny’s customers to Andrew. It was a productive week – but plenty to do this week and the following week with Innovations! Personally this week – it was quiet at home but I got the ASI IP phone and wireless working at home – so yes it is more like my Melbourne home now. The weekend has been a lot more active than last weekend. The weather was excellent!! It was sunny, warm and shorts weather! Saturday I had breakfast with Carol Behm and her husband Randy. We went to the Alexandria Old Town markets – I bought a Meat Pie from a Kiwi guy selling pasties and pies as Kiwi Kusine – looks Jason is not the only kiwi that cannot spell . We had breakfast at Jacks in Old Town. Everyone knew everyone – it was cool. Then I took the Metro (train) to DC and walked around the tourist spots. I have seen them before but it was a great day to walk. I took some pic – I am starting to just take self photos in front of everything to gather a collection. It is hard when people keep offering to take your picture for you…. Sunday was a little more relaxed. Bob is lending me his bike and helmut for a couple of months so I rode from his place to the condo, then from the condo to the Reagan airport. It is really cool at the George Washington Memorial park – you can stand under the planes as they come into land and they are literally metres above your head. Daylight saving is here with a vengeance. Well this week, Aussies arrive, so I will be less of a standout but it will be good to see some familiar faces.
