Associations Forum conference - day 1

Liza and I flew up to Sydney last night (on the same flight coincidentally as Rod Dalglish) to arrive nice and early this morning for day 1 of the Associations Forum (www.associations.net.au) annual conference. This year it is being held again at the Sofitel Wentworth Hotel Sydney. ASI has an exhibition display in the foyer area, 1 of about 20 exhibitors in total. We were using our new display stand for the first time, branded with iMIS 15 - it looks great! Photo below of Liza, Shearne and myself.

The traffic through the booth was constant in all of the break sessions, but not large in volume. I got to meet - which I really enjoy - a few customers and prospects that I had not met before.

I sat in a couple of presentations. The opening presentation from the tax office deputy commissioner was unexciting and painful made worse by poor audio, but things got better later in the morning with a nice presentation by the US speaker Jeff De Cagna, a futurist/innovation consultant talking about web 2.0 and associations. He was a highly regarded speaker at the ASAE conference in Chicago a few weeks ago, and spoke well today here too. His blog is at: www.principledinnovation.com/blog/.
