I sat in on the morning seminar and also manned the video camera to that we have a recording of the presentation. Artez provide the technology behind the new iMIS Friendraising module. Currently the recording is on digital video tape, but I will try and find a way to get it published on the web somewhere.

The same sessions ran in Sydney on the day before (Tuesday 19 Feb).

If you want to learn more about iMIS Friendraising don't forget the upcoming webcast on 6 March at 1.30pm - register here.

Seminar - Innovations in Online Fundraising: The Search for Fundraising Sneezers in Epidemic Proportions

This session will explore the ever-changing technology of the internet, and how fundraisers can benefit. A key theme of the internet is self-expression and self-empowerment. What could this mean for internet fundraising? How can you "move beyond the donate now button" on your website?

Through a series of case studies from Canada, the US, the Netherlands, Australia and the UK this presentation will explore the potential of turning existing donors into online fundraisers (a.k.a. "sneezers") and tips on how to effectively mobilize this volunteer army.

A key theme will be social-networks: what are they online, and how can they be managed effectively by fundraising teams? What motivates online fundraisers? What measurements are important?

Master Class - Innovations in Online Fundraising: Putting Theory into Practice in Your Fundraising Organisation

The Master Class is designed to put the morning seminar’s theory into practice.

Though a combination of large group brainstorming sessions and small group break-out sessions, each participant will leave with a checklist of action items tailored to their own fundraising team.

Topics will include:

  • The simple math: how to construct an internet fundraising campaign from the ground up
  • The 80/20 rule: how to focus limited resources for highest online fundraising impact
  • Overcoming barriers: identifying key obstacles to online fundraising growth within your organization and developing tactics to overcome them
  • Critical success factors: a deeper dive into case studies of successful online fundraising campaigns, and what led to their success
  • Evaluation guidelines: what to measure, how often, and why
  • Further study: a list of additional reading regarding online social networks and online fundraising
