Reflections on the Innovations conferenceIt was great for Liza, Stuart and Shearne to come to the US this week and attend the Innovations conference for the first time. To sit in the opening session with some 150 people – who are just from AiSPs and ASI staff only! – makes you realise what ASI is, and what ASI has built over the years. Everyone in the room and their families depend on iMIS and ASI doing the right thing, and to me that is pretty moving. And that extends to all the staff that work at our AiSPs – and some of our largest AiSPs now have 30+ staff each dedicated to iMIS. They all depend on iMIS now and for the years to come. I take my part of that responsibility very seriously. Since I come over to this conference every year I tend to take it for granted just what we have. I wish I had of taken a photo of the main room to show you. I think Stuart, Liza and Shearne would have been surprised – and they have all been involved with ASI for a long time already! And for them to get a sense of satisfaction for being involved in something larger that we just don't see day-to-day at home. If it was possible (and unfortunately it may not be), I would like to everyone come to this week at least once, just to appreciate what we are. Until then, next year I will bring a video camera to try and bring some of it to you.
