Colin UK - US Trip Jan 2009 - Week 1

Friday night I flew from Melbourne to London via Hong Kong. Although I have done this long flight before, it is normally on the way home to oz not towards work. I arrived in London to stay with a friend who is a school teacher there. The weather all week ranged from -2 to 5 degrees Celsius. Sunday we took the opportunity to walk around the city and even took a ride on a ‘duck’ boat on the Thames.

Monday I was in the London office meeting with Niroo Rad (ASI Europe MD) regarding our Customer Care staff meeting that week. In the afternoon I took the train to the Steyning office which is just over an hour train ride. The Steyning office is based in a small town with the office above a Butcher and Pet store.

I was in meetings in the Steyning office for three days – individual staff meetings Kay, Marianne, Carol and Tracey as well as our first combined EU Customer Care meeting. I attended the ProgressCRM customers’ briefing in London on Wednesday which attended by 25 customer staff. The topic of the briefing was to do with the economic climate and how to get the most of their ProgressCRM investment – and also new modules available. It was very well received.

I finished the week in London office on Friday catching up on calls and emails.

Saturday was my last full day in London so I went for a tube/walk with my friends to St Paul’s Cathedral, Convent Garden markets, Portobello Road markets and even the new Westfield London shopping centre, finishing with a lovely Spanish Tapas dinner. Also passed the Australia Shop in Convent Garden and noticed a big line-up for stuff before Australia Day. Sunday – off to Virginia office.
