ASI Media Release: Discover fundraising insights to make you smile

On the face of it, the UK’s Comic Relief and Brisbane’s Royal Children's Hospital Foundation don’t share anything in common.

That’s until you learn Comic Relief’s Director of New Media, Martin Gill, turned digital media into a powerful fundraising, education and campaigning tool for the organisation in activities including Make Poverty History and LIVE 8.

And the foundation’s Fundraising and Marketing Director, Meredith Campbell, started Daffodil Day in Queensland, established multi-million dollar partnerships for Kids Help Line and co-founded an internet-based charity that runs adventures for women diagnosed with breast cancer and raised almost $1 million in its first four years.

Clearly these people know the art of successful fundraising. And they will be two of the leading speakers at ArtezInterAction at Dockside in Sydney on April 30.

This one-day conference is focused on networking, fundraising and new technology and will discuss strategic online fundraising, current trends and its impact. It is aimed at CEOs, Fundraising Managers, Marketing and Communication Managers, IT Managers and Administrators, and anyone interested in learning about current trends in online fundraising.

Other local and international speakers include the Leukaemia Foundation Australia’s Events and Community Relationships General Manager, David Sims, and Artez Interactive President and CEO Philip King. “We are very excited to be able to bring together such a diverse range of experts sharing their knowledge for the first time in Australia,” Philip said.

“The internet is such an incredibly diverse and powerful fundraising tool. ArtezInterAction will showcase how to harness things like Google and Facebook to drive your website and campaigns, as well as best-practice ideas for websites, and event and campaign management.

“Acquiring knowledge in these areas and understanding how they impact charities can transform any group into a powerful fundraiser.”

The Sydney conference follows on from highly successful ArtezInterAction in North America and the UK. There will also be the ability to network with leading fundraising professionals.

ArtezInterAction is sponsored by Advanced Solutions International, the world’s largest, privately-owned provider of web-based software for member and donor-based non-profits. In Australia ASI has joined forces with Artez Interactive to develop the Friendraising module for ASI’s flagship software solution iMIS.

“We’re delighted to be able bring ArtezInterAction to Australia and showcase the applications and possibilities that people may not traditionally associate with the internet,” Advanced Solutions International (Asia-Pacific) Managing Director Paul Ramsbottom said. “The backgrounds of the ArtezInterAction guest speakers is proof of that diversity.”
